If you're planning a new build, then you have to meet various planning regulations before you will get permission to go ahead with the job. For example, your plans might need to meet Part 5 siting rules. These rules affect the location of new build properties and the space they should have around them. Once you have your architectural plans, it's worth asking a building surveyor to check that your plans meet these regulations.
